Product Overview: The NU 2217 Cylindrical Roller Bearing
The NU 2217 is a high-capacity single-row cylindrical roller bearing, an essential component for machinery operating under heavy radial loads and high speeds. With principal dimensions of 85x150x36mm, this bearing is a key part of our Cylindrical Roller Bearings collection and a member of the robust NU 2200 Series. The 'NU' designation signifies a specific design where the inner ring has two integral flanges and the outer ring is flangeless. This configuration allows the bearing to accommodate axial displacement of the shaft relative to the housing in both directions, making it ideal for non-locating bearing positions.
As a premier supplier of industrial components, we guarantee that our NU 2217 bearings meet stringent industry standards for performance and durability. Their line contact between rollers and raceways provides superior radial load support compared to ball bearings of the same size, ensuring reliability in demanding industrial applications. Explore our full range of NU Series bearings to find the perfect solution for your needs.
Key Features of the NU 2217 Bearing
- High Radial Load Capacity: Designed with cylindrical rollers that provide a large contact area, enabling it to support very heavy radial loads.
- Axial Displacement Accommodation: The NU design allows for free axial movement of the shaft relative to the housing, compensating for thermal expansion or mounting inaccuracies.
- Separable Design: The inner ring can be mounted separately from the outer ring and roller assembly, simplifying installation and maintenance procedures.
- Low Friction Operation: Precision engineering of the rollers and raceways minimizes friction, reducing heat generation and enabling higher operational speeds.
- High Stiffness: The bearing's construction offers significant radial stiffness, ensuring stability and precision under load.
- Durable Construction: Manufactured from high-quality, clean bearing steel for maximum strength, wear resistance, and extended service life.
Common Applications for NU 2217 Bearings
- Industrial Gearboxes: Provides robust support for gears and shafts, handling the high radial forces common in gear systems.
- Electric Motors: Used as non-locating bearings on motor shafts to support heavy rotors while allowing for thermal expansion.
- Pumps and Compressors: Ensures reliable rotation of shafts in industrial pumps and compressors where high radial loads are present.
- Vibrating Screens and Crushers: Ideal for heavy-duty machinery in the mining and construction sectors due to its exceptional load-carrying ability.
- Rolling Mills: Employed in steel and metal processing equipment to support rollers under extreme pressure.
